Projector mounts can be categorised as Dedicated or Universal. With universal mounts, the projector is fitted directly to the mount and remains on the wall or ceiling until you remove it for maintenance or replacement. This action requires tools, and is primarly useful for small offices or home use, where the beamer remains mounted permanently, and where bulb replacement or filter cleaning can be carried out without demounting the projector.

Dedicated mounts (Gyrolock) comprise the ceiling mount, and a dedicated adapter plate which is fitted to the projector. This enables a quick docking or undocking of the projector on the mount - this is particularly useful in schools or training centers where the beamers need to be undocked for safe storage, or where there a pool of beamers which can be used in any of the many rooms on request. Docking and Undocking requires no tools.
